2 Weeks and Waiting

Waiting is hard.

My friend Chris, a university professor, uses this sentence a lot. Of all the complex and philosophical ways he could express this same sentiment, he chooses these three simple words, the combination of which I think is both profound and hilarious at the same time.

I have never been good at waiting. Of the very few virtues I do possess, patience is not one. In fact, I recently took one of those on-line adult ADHD tests and barely made it to the end before I was distracted and lost interest. I scored 90 out of a possible 100 on the test, which I thought was pretty good, until I read that if you scored higher than 60 you should probably seek professional help.

I’m sorry. What was I saying?

Right. So the next two weeks before I leave for Tucson are going to be hard. Very hard. Here’s why:

7 full days of spectacular road riding in perfect weather with great riders and friends. It just doesn’t get any better.

Just looking at these pictures from last year makes me want to explode into a million flaming dime-sized Cycle Chick fragments of excruciating anticipation.

Sigh. Waiting is hard.
