Tour de Popcorn

If you are a roadie and haven’t had the misfortune of living under a rock, you have heard that Chasing Legends is playing on Wednesday night at 7pm at Silver City Polo Park. If you hadn’t heard, now you have.

Chasing Legends is a feature length documentary that follows the HTC-Columbia Team (home of the Manx Mouth, Mark Cavendish) through the (time) trials and tribulations of the 2009 Tour de France. I fucking love the Tour de France. I also love Mark Cavendish, and popcorn. So this is going to be good. Really, really good. Cavendish will quite likely show off his top secret and revolutionary approach to winning: beating other people.

This film has been released on DVD, so you can buy it to watch in the comfort of your own home if you want to. But if you’re like me and your TV looks like this:

… seeing this on the big screen is pretty compelling.

The film promises to dish out all the history, passion and grit of The Tour, and will feature cycling glitterati such as Lance, George, Eddy, Andy, Jens and of course, Phil. There will be crashes, there will be tears (especially if Cadel Evans is there), and yes, there will be $20 tubs of popcorn.

And best of all, the coolest people in Winnipeg will be there, watching.
