Bring On The Frites!
All right boys and girls, it’s time for your yearly Belgian facial.
This Sunday in Bruxelles, our home-grown version of the Spring Classics will leave us all begging for mercy and drowning our misery in beer and mayonnaise. God willing. If the roads are dry, it will be pretty great. If the roads are wet, it will be awesome.
I am told by The People this is not to be missed. The People are rarely wrong.
Details on the pic, please – when was it taken, before or after snowfall, gravel to mud ratio, etc…..
Check out the OCC blog (link is to the right, first one under “Les Clubs”) for the course and photo details – scroll to the post called “Bruxelles News…”. That’s where I found the road shot, as well as a good description of the conditions. The photo was taken last weekend, weather was shitty if memory serves. Apparently the course is 95% gravel, 4% dirt and 1% pavement. Best to talk to Hal Loewen for more details if you need. He is the proverbial Man. See you and the boy(s) there?
Yes, me and the boys are driving up. Sean is riding moutain bike, not sure if Aaron is riding his road bike.
I’m taking the big, horkin’ Chrysler 300 – hemi. Nice stereo. Nice seats. Neurotic racers. If you wanna come with us, let me know and I’ll put another rack on the roof.
Sweet! I’ve arranged to carpool with Jamie F., but he was sick yesterday and is a question mark. He’s supposed to let me know later tonight if he’s coming. If he bails I’d love the company of other neurotic racers, and their Dad. Ok if I I send you an email as soon as I hear? Or feel free to send me a private email with your phone number…
I’m riding the cross bike with 25c slicks. Good times.
I’ve emailed the info to your work address. Or just email me one way or another.
Be warned, wearing pink rubber gloves when it’s raining is rule 92.11 for the Velominati youth team – not my idea, believe me.
Good thing rule 93 is that it’s ok to wear pink if it is intended to be ironic.
